Een gezamenlijke reis in individuele richtingen
Van 23 mei tot en met 7 juni 2025 presenteert Kunstruimte KEL-30 in De Biotoop te Haren de tentoonstelling Go Your Own Way – een dynamische groepsexpositie waarin proces, experiment en persoonlijke artistieke ontwikkeling centraal staan.
Go Your Own Way is geen traditioneel gecureerde tentoonstelling met één overkoepelend thema. De deelnemende kunstenaars zijn niet geselecteerd op stijl of inhoud, maar kwamen samen vanuit een gedeelde behoefte aan ruimte, vrijheid en onderzoek. Het resultaat is een levendige verzameling autonome trajecten – artistieke routes die elkaar raken, kruisen of juist confronteren.
De meeste kunstenaars werken vanuit de Biotoop en worden voor deze gelegenheid aangevuld met speciaal uitgenodigde gasten van buitenaf. In de ruime tentoonstellingszaal van 800 m2 krijgen zij de gelegenheid om nieuwe ideeën te testen, langlopende projecten voort te zetten of onverwachte richtingen te verkennen. Wat hen bindt, is de drang om op eigen kracht verder te gaan – en precies daar ontstaat de kracht van het geheel.
Zondag 25 mei is een bijzonder moment: tijdens de jaarlijkse BiotOPENdag openen talloze ateliers, werkplaatsen en initiatieven binnen De Biotoop hun deuren voor publiek. Bezoekers kunnen dan niet alleen de tentoonstelling Go Your Own Way ervaren, maar ook kennismaken met het creatieve ecosysteem waarin deze kunstenaars dagelijks werken. Een inspirerende dag vol kunst, ontmoeting en ontdekking.

Go Your Own Way
A Collective Journey in Individual Directions
From May 23 to June 7, 2025, exhibition space KEL-30 at De Biotoop in Haren presents Go Your Own Way – a dynamic group exhibition that centers on process, experimentation, and personal artistic growth.
Go Your Own Way is not a traditionally curated exhibition with a single overarching theme. The participating artists were not selected based on shared content or style, but rather came together through a common need for space, freedom, and exploration. The result is a vibrant constellation of autonomous artistic journeys – paths that intersect, diverge, and sometimes challenge one another.
Most of the artists are based in De Biotoop and are joined by specially invited guests from outside. Within the spacious 800 m2 exhibition hall, they present new work, continue long-term investigations, or explore unexpected directions. What unites them is the drive to move forward on their own terms – and in that individualism, a compelling collective energy emerges.
A special moment during the exhibition is the BiotOPEN Day on Sunday, May 25. During this annual event, studios, workshops, and cultural initiatives across De Biotoop open their doors to the public. Visitors are warmly invited to experience the exhibition Go Your Own Way and discover the vibrant creative community that makes this place unique. An inspiring day filled with art, encounters, and new perspectives.
